How To Use Affirmations Effectively And Make Them Work For You

Positive affirmations are positive statements that help us reprogram our subconscious mind and help us to achieve our goals or dreams. Many of us believe that affirmations are magic and work only for the “selected group of people”, but this is not true. In fact, we all use affirmations on a daily basis, whether we are aware of it or not.

They are like a seed that we plant in the soil and water it so that it can one day grow into a beautiful flower. Affirmations are the key or the beginning, if you will, of our journey to achieve our dream results.

Positive affirmations should only be used in the present tense because this is the only time we can change our lives or create a successful future. We can use them anytime, anywhere, and for any area of our lives. Here are some examples:

  • Health affirmation – “My health is improving each day”
  • Love affirmation – “My heart is open and I deserve love”
  • Confidence affirmation – “I accept myself exactly as I am”
  • Money affirmation – “I attract money easily”
  • Success affirmation – “I am successful in whatever I do”
  • Beauty affirmation – “I feel comfortable in my own skin”

In addition to positive affirmations, there are also negative affirmations. It is something that we encounter every day and many of us use it on a daily basis. “I can’t do it, I’m not good enough, I’ll never win, I’ll never find love” are a few examples of negative affirmations.

Many people wonder and pity themselves that they cannot find love, that they are not good enough or that they will never win, yet they assert themselves that they will never win or find love.

At first glance, it may seem that negative affirmations are more effective and work much faster than the positive ones, but the reason is simple. People who use negative affirmations use them very often, mostly with an emotional undertone that gives even more weight to the negative affirmations, and not only they say these affirmations out loud or think them, but they also expect it to happen.

And when they fail or don’t win, they say, “I knew I wouldn’t win. I knew I would fail again.” It is not because these people are clairvoyants and they know what will happen in the future rather than because they themselves manifested these negative circumstances with their negative affirmations and expectations.

believe you can and you're halfway there

Do negative affirmations work faster than positive affirmations?

Positive and negative affirmations work exactly the same; equally fast and equally effective. If you put as much faith, energy, and weight into positive affirmations as you put into the negative ones, they will work.

How to make positive affirmations work for you?

Feel good about them

Once you start with positive affirmations, feel good about it. You must in no way feel that you are doing this out of coercion or because you immediately need more money, love, or better health.

Don’t be too hard on yourself; if you feel unwell, one day without saying affirmations is not a disaster. Positive affirmations should be fun, something that makes you happy, not an obligation.

Repeat them often

Repeat your favorite affirmation several times a day, preferably in the morning after waking up, in the afternoon and in the evening before falling asleep. There is no guide to affirmations that determined the exact number of repetitions, but the more the better.

Believe in them

As already mentioned, affirmations are not a magic spell but a tool to reprogram our minds. If we want positive affirmations to work for us, we must believe in them and to set goals that we believe will come true.

Is it easier for you to believe “I have $20 million in my bank account” or “I attract more money every day”? I guess the second affirmation. Start gradually, do not make huge jumps. Start with more general affirmations such as “I love myself more every day” and gradually change affirmations to more specific ones.
